About Clinical Studies Sweden

Clinical Studies Sweden is a collaboration between the Swedish Research Council and Sweden’s six healthcare regions. The collaboration aims at building a national research infrastructure for clinical studies that strengthens regional conditions for conducting clinical studies.

The Swedish Government has mandated the Swedish Research to support and develop the conditions for clinical studies in Sweden through national coordination,.. Through better coordination, the work can be made more efficient and give more patients the opportunity to participate in studies, irrespective of where in the country they are conducted.

The Committee for Clinical Studies at the Swedish Research Council decides on the overall orientation of the assignment and on the funds available for development in the field. As part of the implementation of the mission, the committee has established a national cooperation, Clinical Studies Sweden. Sweden's six health care regions have designated cooperative functions, regional nodes, to take part in the cooperation. The cooperation aims at building a joint national research infrastructure for clinical studies that strengthens regional conditions for conducting clinical studies.

The Office for Clinical Studies at the Swedish Research Council has an overall mission to support and develop the conditions for cooperation in Clinical Studies Sweden.
